Mount Royal Staff Association COVID-19 Update

Dear members,

On behalf of the MRSA executive, we would like to remind you that we are dedicated to supporting our members during this challenging time.

Your health and safety is top priority. In order to minimize the spread of COVID-19, please remember to wash your hands frequently, keep a distance of two metres between you and others, and most importantly, stay home if you are feeling unwell in any way

There is a zero-tolerance policy on coming to work with symptoms. Should you become ill, contact your manager and complete this Self-Isolation Declaration Form. During this time, employees will be granted sick leave without the need for a doctor’s note.

Managers are being urged to arrange flexible work arrangements as an additional social distancing measure, including working from home if operationally viable. Working remotely may not be an option for all employees, but it is important for you to feel safe and secure in your work environment.

Please review MRU’s recommendations for flexible work arrangements and discuss the options with your manager.

If you have concerns with your current work arrangements, please let us know. Remember, we are here to advocate for a safe and healthy environment for all members and the more information we have to do so, the better. Please send an email to mrsa@mtroyal.ca if you have any questions or concerns.

If you find you need extra support during this unsettling time, all members have access to the Employee Family Assistance Program (EFAP). Learn more about how they can help here.

Take care,

MRSA executive
