Sam Ulmer-Krol

Hello! I am delighted to represent the MRSA as one of your two Vice Presidents.

My history at Mount Royal University is long and varied. I first started at MRU in its College days as a student in the daycare and kindergarten program. Several years later, I returned as a student in the Bachelor of Arts program and have since worked for the university in a handful of roles. Currently, I work for the Faculty of Business, Communication Studies, & Aviation as an Academic Programming & Student Advisor. My role advises all students in the Bachelor of Communication and engages faculty in the review and development of curriculum.

Over the years, I have watched Mount Royal University grow from a transfer college to the university it is today. These changes come with growing pains, many of which chafe our members and are the sources for ongoing tension and strife. My passions are in helping people find their voices and ensuring their voices are heard—passions that align with me pursuing this role.

Outside of the office, my hobbies include recreational biking, tabletop games (shoutouts to my fellow Dungeons & Dragons fanatics), and food. You will find me a very food-motivated person, and my entire travel bucket list is dictated by where I can find the best meal.

Please reach out if you have any concerns or want to connect! MRU is very good at making silos, and I’m too claustrophobic to let them exist for long. My office is in T252 and you can reach me anytime at sulmerkrol@mtroyal.ca
