Hello there! I am pleased to represent the MRSA as your President.
Having joined MRU in 1989, I have seen many changes to both the university and our membership. Prior to becoming President, I worked for Enrolment Services in the Admissions and Recruitment Office. In my most recent position I was the Coordinator of Student Recruitment, overseeing an office of seven recruitment officers, two recruitment assistants and a data processor. This office is tasked with recruiting students to MRU and we travel all over the province and into BC, SK, ON and MB. I also had the privilege of travelling to China on behalf of MRU which was life changing!
My passion is governance, policy, justice and equity so it was fitting to pursue this role, as I am committed to overseeing the workplace and human rights administration for our membership. I believe we are making improvements in all areas of our union, building our reputation as valued and respected members within our MRU community, including representation at MRU Board of Governors, General Faculties Council, MRSA/MRFA/SAMRU Coalition Group and various University Joint Committees.
Outside of work, my passions include food, travel (Ko’Olina, Oahu is my happy place) and of course time spent with my family, friends and cat. I love a great happy hour so feel free to give me a shout and I’ll meet you over at SpotOn and we can catch up!
