INFORMATION PICKET/RALLY EVENT
Tuesday, September 24, 2024 | 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
The MRSA is partnering with the MRFA for a joint rally on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. We invite all members to join our Collective Bargaining Committee, Executive Board, MRFA members, and union partners in sharing our concerns with the community.
Goals of the Event:
- Affirm our value as Mount Royal University staff.
- Advocate for economic improvements to the collective agreement.
- Speak out against government interference in the bargaining process.
The MRFA will also focus on opposing the proposed Bill 18, which threatens academic freedom, institutional autonomy, and fair bargaining.
This information picket and rally is a chance to show your support, stand in solidarity with the Collective Bargaining Committee, and raise awareness within the community.
Event Schedule:
- The rally begins at 11:30 a.m. on Main Street. You can pick up brochures, pickets, buttons, and cowbells.
- We’ll proceed to the East Gate for speeches from our MRSA President, Michelle LoGullo, and other invited speakers, starting at 12:15 p.m.
- Lunch will be provided for participants (while supplies last). Please bring your own beverage.
Please note that the rally will take place during non-working hours (lunch and/or breaks). This is a peaceful, non-confrontational event where we can stand together with our colleagues and show our support.
