2026 MRSA General Election | Call for Nominations opens on April 9

Do you want to grow personally and professionally, develop your leadership skills, gain unique experiences, and make lasting connections with colleagues across campus? Do you have a passion for governance, social advocacy, equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility, and representing the voice of our association? If so, we need you! Help strengthen the Association by considering the following roles:

1) EXECUTIVE BOARD 

President | One member: two-year term 2026-2028
Candidates must be full-time, twelve (12) month employees and are required to have served a minimum of one (1) year on the MRSA Executive Board.  

Vice-President | Two members: one, two-year term 2026-2028, and one, one-year term 2026-2027
Candidates must be full-time employees or full-time Regular Recurring employees and commit to a twelve (12) month serving capacity, regardless of their employment hours designation. Candidates are recommended to have served a minimum of one (1) year as a representative on the MRSA Executive Board or have relevant experience.  

Treasurer | One member: two-year term 2026-2028
Candidates must be full-time employees or Full-time Regular Recurring Employees and commit to a twelve (12) month serving capacity, regardless of their employment hours designation. Candidates are recommended to have served a minimum of one (1) year as a representative on the MRSA Executive Board or have relevant experience. It is strongly recommended that the Treasurer has a working knowledge of basic accounting principles and budgeting in order to fulfill the responsibilities of this role.

Director at Large | Five (5) members: four, two-year terms 2026-2028, and one, one-year term (2026-2027)
Candidates must be full-time employees or full-time continuing term employees and commit to a twelve (12) month serving capacity, regardless of their employment hours designation.    

2) COMMITTEE

Education, Development and Training (EDT): Four (4) members; two-year terms 2026-2028

PROCEDURE FOR NOMINATIONS:

  • Complete the Nomination Form (available April 9-22) if you would like to nominate yourself or a colleague;    
  • Confirmation of Nomination sent to nominees; 
  • Complete the Nomination Campaign Statement​ (available April 9-22) if you would like to accept a nomination.  

TIMELINES:

  • Nomination period: April 9-22 (closes at 4 p.m.);
  • Candidates announced: April 27 and may campaign until May 8;
  • Online Election: opens on May 11 at 9 a.m. and closes on May 12 at 4 p.m.;
  • Results announced: May 13
