Fall 2025 MRSA By-Election | Call for Nominations

Would you like to grow personally and professionally, develop your leadership skills, gain unique experiences, and make lasting connections with colleagues across campus? Do you have a passion for governance, equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility, bargaining for workplace rights and representing the voice of our union? If so, we need you! The following positions are currently vacant on the MRSA Executive Board:

Vice-President: One (1) member, two-year term (2025-2027)
Candidates must be full-time employees or full-time continuing term employees and commit to a twelve (12) month serving capacity, regardless of their employment hours designation. Candidates for Vice-President(s) are recommended to have served a minimum of one (1) year as a representative on the MRSA Executive Board or have relevant experience.  

Director at Large: Three (3) members: 

                                                       i) two (2) two-year terms 2025-2027 (to June 30, 2027), and; 
                                                      ii) one (1) one-year term 2025-2026 (to June 30, 2026) 
Candidates must be full-time employees or full-time continuing term employees and commit to a twelve (12) month serving capacity, regardless of their employment hours designation.

PROCEDURE FOR NOMINATIONS:

  • Complete the Nomination Form if you would like to nominate yourself or a colleague;    
  • Confirmation of Nomination sent to nominees; 
  • Complete the Nomination Campaign Statement if you would like to pursue a nomination. 


TIMELINES:

  • Nominations open: Sept 16 – 29 (closes at 4 p.m.);
  • Candidates announced: Oct 2 and may campaign until Oct 16;
  • Elections open: Oct 17 at 9 a.m. and close on Oct 20 at 4 p.m.;
  • Results shared: Oct 21
