Help strengthen the Association by considering the following roles:
1) EXECUTIVE BOARD
Vice-President: One member; two-year term 2023-25 Candidates are recommended to have served a minimum of one (1) year as a representative on the Executive or have relevant experience, and must be full-time employees or full-time continuing term employees and commit to a twelve (12) month serving capacity, regardless of their employment hours designation.
Treasurer: One member; one-year term 2023-2024
Candidates for Treasurer must be full-time employees or full-time continuing term employees and commit to a twelve (12) month serving capacity, regardless of their employment hours designation. Candidates for Treasurer are recommended to have served a minimum of one (1) year as a representative on the Executive or have relevant experience. It is strongly recommended that the Treasurer has a working knowledge of basic accounting principles and budgeting in order to fulfill the responsibilities of this role.
Director at Large: Five (5) members: i) three (3) two-year terms 2023-2025, and; ii) two (2) one-year terms 2023-2024 Candidates for Director-at-Large roles must be full-time employees or full-time continuing term employees and commit to a twelve (12) month serving capacity, regardless of their employment hours designation.
Director at Large: EDI: One member; two-year term 2023-25
Candidates for the role of Director-at-Large: EDI must be full-time employees or full-time continuing term employees and commit to a twelve (12) month serving capacity, regardless of their employment hours designation.
Board of Governors Representative: One member; two-year term 2023-2025 (Expression of Interest Form must be submitted for this role)
Candidates for the Board of Governors Representative must be full-time employees or full-time continuing term employees and are recommended to have served a minimum of one (1) year on the MRSA Executive Board.
2) COMMITTEES
Collective Bargaining: Five (5) members (including one Executive Board member) for the duration of the next round of bargaining. The committee will convene Fall 2023. (Expression of Interest Form must be submitted for this role)
Education, Development and Training (EDT): Three (3) members, two-year terms (2023-2025) ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
PROCEDURE FOR NOMINATIONS:
- Complete the Nomination Form if you would like to nominate yourself or a colleague;
- Confirmation of Nomination sent to nominees;
- Complete the Nomination Campaign Statement (or required Expression of Interest Form) if you would like to accept a nomination.
TIMELINES:
- Nominations open: April 17 – 28 (closes at 4 p.m.);
- Candidates announced: May 1 and may campaign until May 12;
- Elections open: May 15 at 9 a.m. and close on May 16 at 4 p.m.;
- Results shared: May 17
