2022 MRSA General Election: Call for Nominations

Executive Board and Committee service offers opportunities for staff to grow personally and professionally, to develop leadership skills, gain unique experience, and make lasting connections with colleagues across campus. If you are looking to broaden your MRU experience, the MRSA has a role for you! 

Help strengthen the Association into the future and be a voice for your colleagues by considering the following roles:  

President: One member; two-year term 2022-2024Candidates for President must be full-time, twelve (12) month employees and are required to have served a minimum of one (1) year on the MRSA Executive Board.

Vice-President: Two members; one member, one-year term 2022-2023; one member, two-year term 2022-2024 Candidates are recommended to have served a minimum of one (1) year as a representative on the Executive or have relevant experience, and must be full-time employees or full-time continuing term employees and commit to a twelve (12) month serving capacity, regardless of their employment hours designation.

Treasurer: One member; two-year term 2022-2024
Candidates for Treasurer must be full-time employees or full-time continuing term employees and commit to a twelve (12) month serving capacity, regardless of their employment hours designation. Candidates for Treasurer are recommended to have served a minimum of one (1) year as a representative on the Executive or have relevant experience. It is strongly recommended that the Treasurer has a working knowledge of basic accounting principles and budgeting in order to fulfill the responsibilities of this role. 

Director at Large: Four members, two-year terms 2022-2024 Candidates for Director-at-Large positions must be full-time employees or full-time continuing term employees and commit to a twelve (12) month serving capacity, regardless of their employment hours designation.

EDT Committee: Five members, two-year terms (2022-24) Release time for Executive Board and EDT Committee participation is granted as per Collective Agreement Article 7.

Please complete the Nomination Campaign Statement if you would like to pursue a nomination for one of the above roles.If you would like to include a campaign video, infographic, your website or LinkedIn profile etc., links may be included in your nomination campaign statement.

The call for nominations will close on April 29 at 4 p.m.

Candidates will be announced on May 2 and may campaign until May 6. 

The election will be held online and will open on May 9 at 9 a.m. and close on May 10 at 4 p.m.

Results will be shared on May 11.
