On April 26, 2021, the MRSA filed a Group/Policy Grievance regarding Article 1.13(i) Casual Employee re: the interpretation of the understood and applied definition of casual employee hours to be capped at 910 hours for Casual Employees.
Members can access the grievance notice, and letter to the AVP, HR here. The parties have been unable to come to an agreement regarding the grievance, but have placed the grievance in abeyance (on hold), on July 15, 2021, pending the outcome of the bargaining process. It is MRSA and MRU’s intent to address the casual employee’s definition through bargaining – to improve the language and understanding of casual employee’s rights.
Should any casual employees have questions regarding this please contact the MRSA.
